    I always wondered what the 3-way selector did on an Esquire...now I know!  Thanks for posting this.

    That's a lovely looking guitar....
    Rich- a lot of people put the mellowness down to the type of pup wire used (enamalled or unenamalled, forget which one??) on the early stuff.

    The riff is from Wilco's Ashes Of American Flags. 

    Nothing like a bit of drop D on a Tele or Esquire.
