Improve 'Search' facility please :)

If the devs are looking where to focus their activities on next could I suggest the 'search' facility please?
I know it does have a 'more options' facility but it's very convoluted and unintuitive. One I find most useful on other forums is a 'search this forum' box - so for example of you're already in classifieds/guitar then then the search box by default searches just that section (tick box feature).

Could definitely use some improvement. 

We will be prioritising development for the next release soon and we will have a think about what we can do.

I suspect that the most improvement is to be gained by redesigning the search page to more prominently feature the Advanced Search - that's what most people really want (eg searching by category etc).

A big part of the problem with the results in general is that we're very limited by the plugins available, which means it's either the one we have or wrappers for Google. The latter would be great, were it not for the fact that there's no way to limit the results by category/subforum.

That's not to say that we can't improve things significantly - it's just the main reason we haven't so far (there's a lot of work involved, and we had higher priorities - like the editor).
