Anyone used an ehx signal pad for a lead/rythmn sound ?

i play a jcm800 boosted a little by a ts808.
it doesn't have much room for a solo boost , as to be expected !!

i wondered if anyone has tried a similar setup with an ehx signal pad ?!

    I used a HBE Detox for that job, much more control over tone and amazing how clean you could make an 800 without losing volume.

    Since it's just a passive signal cut, wouldn't you achieve much the same thing by turning off the TS?
