Did you mean 335 rather than 355?  P/up change is key.  I had Seymour Duncan SH '59's put in mine...sounds as near to a 335 as you can get without dropping £2,500!
I had some seymour duncan 59's in a Washburn HB 30(?). Sounded ossum!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I want mine to sound like Alvin Lee at Woodstock.

That silversun epi does sound good - a bit brighter than a 335 I'd say, but then that could be the amp.  I'm still curious about trying something a bit more unusual though:

OK. Pondered quite hard here and have finally ordered tonepros bridge and tailpiece, locking Klusons and, Blues Engine pickups.  The last is a bit of a suck it and see but they do get very good reviews.  EC or Alvin Lee I ain't, so the last 10/15% of tone isn't going to make a lot of difference really.

This small purchase actually exceeds the original cost of the guitar, scarily.

Couldn't be arsed with the Frequensator and have read some less than glowing reports too.
