Jabbing the end of my fingers tips with the sharp end of guitar strings, during restringing, when trying to pull out the wound bit of string from the tuners, making it bleed.

    Seething!

Come on, everyone knows stainless doesn't have the vintage mojo of period correct nickel alloy.

Thank you, I would welcome your insight in how to restring properly and remove the coiled piece of string from the tuner.
    No charge.
There should be no charge. You haven't given any insight yet!
I fixed your spelling mistake and made some grammatical changes.
That will be £5, thank you.

Split Post Tuners are used for a reason.
Yup, much tidier - I have those on my 69 Strat.  But best tuners for fast easy string changes of all my guitars are those on my PRS Custom 24. Thread the string through the post, tighten the screw, snip the excess length off and you're done!

i have stabbed my finger many times just taking them out of the pack at the start, and disposing of the string ends after itsdone.   The type of tuners or stringing method is no help here

I hate the lack of variation and traditional dogmatic approach to tone.

    Nah, not really.

A Tele and tube amp suits me just fine

I had a plain 22 string go almost all the way through from the tip of my left thumb and out the side, just above the knuckle. It really stung but I just had a tiny blood blister and it healed really quickly!

Worse has actually happened to a friend of mine who strung a baritone with 7s. The high e string sliced right through his finger when as he has a stupid stringing technique. He treads it through the tuner then wraps it around his finger and pulls it tight before turning it. It left a deep cut.

    Why not?

They last much longer than nickel frets.

The two things that piss me off about guitars is
    1) never satisfied with the ones I've got
    2) other people can make them sound better than me

Why is it that after the honeymoon period where you post on a forum about how great your nee guitar is, that within 6 months you are trawling Coda, World Guitars, Guitars4You, Peach etc. and watching videos on Youtube, lusting after some other guitar as the one(s) you have aren't quite right or as good as that new one you want?

it's a modern fast appetite consumerism disease that leaves us always wanting more, differenet and better.
