Mojo Pickups Hershey Bars

What's Hot

@Mojopickups seems to be on the roll for making repros of lesser known pickups from the mid part of the 20th Century and on.

I'm scratching my head to what guitars I will get to put Mojo Pickups in now!

@earwighoney I have some very cool things coming in the New Year, assuming the cost of the parts don't bankrupt me.

  • Thanks for the info @Mojopickups, ;

I'm tempted to ask what the new cool things are but I imagine you'd like to keep them as surprises!

oh yeah! what kind of magnets are you using in the Hershey bars?
Don Mare was prototyping these several years ago, but ran into cost implications and gave up on them IIRC - good luck!

Has anyone got a good clip of a Stratotone being played?  I tried a couple on YouTube but they were not very compelling.

Ok, you got me intrigued - what's the switch for in a single pup guitar?

@smnmy I'd rather not give out exact details, as it was quite expensive research.
Basically, I sent an original magnet off to my magnet supplier for analysis and they reproduced an exact replica.
This project has been relatively easy, next years new pickups projects are a lot more complicated......but that's what keeps it fun.

Well if they have anything like the character and authenticity of your gold foils Marc I'm definitely intrigued.

  • What size are these? Can you make them fit in a P90 rout?

my comments were moderated today for some reason so my answers might appear in the wrong order, but re the size - they are smaller in all dimensions to p90s - you could do it but you'd need a ring of some kind and maybe something to raise it up to the strings because they are v shallow.

Ok, you got me intrigued - what's the switch for in a single pup guitar?
It just takes the tone cap in and out of circuit - on this gtr it's out of circuit all the time. It's quite a common thing on early 50s gtrs.

the switch just takes the tone control in an out of circuit - handy in a neck pickup gtr!

@bridgehouse - the switch just takes the tone control out of the circuit
