Catalinbread DLS mk3 Noise

Hello all,

I fear my DLS has developed a fault - the pedal has an almost ground loop noise when engaged. When i touch the pedal the noise changes the noise is constant (like a guitar has been unplugged - type of noise) 

What could be causing this?  Or is this normal with this pedal? (Surely it cant be normal)

Mine doesn't do that, certainly not normal.

any idea as to what it could be?

 

it really does seem like an earthing problem - can this occur on a pedal?

well I am going to go through Guitarguitar where I bought it from I am awaiting an email from them (still no word after 3 days) I have also rung them but they have fobbed me off so I am hoping they will sort it out soon
