That's got to be an overspray with fake tint, surely… they don't go that orange just with natural sunlight.

I've never seen an Anniversary Strat that colour either.

Yeah, that's happened to quite a lot of them. I think the initial ones had a paint issue which caused the yellowing. IIRC later ones aren't so prone to this.

and they are prone to serious lacquer checking - I can't recall the exact details now but there was a trial with some new finish, or a change of content in the finish

Yeah, as @WezV said, it was originally a white finish which cracked all over like crazy paving, so they switched to the silver.

I haven't seen a silver one which has yellowed like this, though.
