Good plan. If you like it, you're all set. If you like it, but with reservations, you're in a good position because a huge number of other overdrives on the market are nearly Tubescreamers with some tweaks to the circuit. If you hate it and everything it stands for, you've ruled out a lot of other ODs.

Well here's an update.

Tubescreamer was definitely the way to go. I went for a TS mini as I found one in a local shop and I'm an impatient bastard.

Loving it so far, time will tell if any niggles arise
