    - You haven't started a thread on why a Strat/Les Paul/PRS is the best and all you need
    - You've not touched a Terry Morgan
    - You've not ranted about a Helix/Axe FX either positively or negatively
    - You haven't discovered that "tone is all in the brass saddle/screws/tuners" etc..

    ;)
Or that you've finally accepted that 6 strings present too much of a challenge for you and have taken up bass playing instead....

Hey! Playing bass is certainly not the inept guitarists fall back! :)

The guitar is all completely original. However, it required a refret - in fact 2 refrets after a nightmare bodge job done by a famous ( recently retired ) British guitar maker who we all know  :p

Despite being told the frets may need to come out from the side (70's fenders) he took them out of the top and basically fucked it up good and proper.

I wont go into further depth but anyways I then took it to Jacks Instrument Services in McR and he sorted it out, put SS frets in and made the neck joint rock solid with veneer inserts in the pocket.

i learnt a valuable lesson with this, and I won't forget that first refret, Jesus Christ now I'm angry again lol  :s

Nice. I had a 78 in the same finish, very cool. Mine was a pile of poo and heavy as hell though, yours sounds to be infinitely better.  :)

The wood is lovely. I like the way it is nicely weathered in, but still retains its originality . It sure is one of the nicest picnic tables I have seen for a while.

is no way the lacquer has worn off that naturally - they were polyurethane!

Poly....with a top coat of nitro, the upper bout shows the poly where the nitro has worn completely - the rest is cracked and nicely aged nitro

Indeed - here's some natural wear on my '74 P which is Poly with nitro on top

Apart from no checking, I reckon it wears similar to Nitro tbh... Lot of myth about wear on poly - specially the older stuff
