  • It doesn't get a lot of love but the Xotic AC Booster is great. Goes from almost no drive to quite a lot. Very amp like gain too.

    My main pedals are Klon KTR, Zendrive and an Emma Stink Bug (basically a high quality TS circuit).

    They all do their own thing- I'm mostly using the Stink Bug at the moment but that is more about the amp I'm using.

    ooh I also really really like the Fulltone 69 Fuzz with the gain up full and the level set sensible - then just ride the volume on the strat from unity, boost, gritty drive to fuzzy goodness.
    A sig-nat-eur? What am I meant to use this for ffs?! Is this thing recording?

    Ooh, I knew my specialist subject would come up one day!

    Money-no-object: G2D Cream Tone, tried one recently and have had to stump up for one, just the right amount of everything (mid hump, bass retention, compression etc), sounds fat yet articulate, lovely stuff.

    The above experiences are through a Fender style amp, I mention this because the results would probably be very different through a Vox, for example.

    I knew I should have refrained from delving into this thread.

    So I've looked up the G2D Cream Tone, found a few Sound / YT Clips.....the usual path to spending more cash.

    Is it really anything like this? Cause if it is, it's just what I'm looking for.

    My amp is Fender Style - simple single channel Valve Combo, simple single 12AX7 input Stage with Dual 6L6 Output Stage.

    My favourites would be these three;
    Klon/e    (based on clips/recordings, I've not got one... yet)
    Fulldrive II (Non-mosfet user here... it's glorious)
    Fuzz Face    (Silicon for me, a lot prefer Germanium versions though)

    That's a fair representation, mines now arrived, just had a blast, it's beautiful!

    another vote for the Liquid Sunshine

    Also Xotic BBMB for full-on texas blues-sounding stuff.

    EDIT: I borrowed a ZVex Box of Rock recently which also sounded great - I would like a Distortron at some point. And I must admit my curiosity is piqued by the Les Lius.
