Yes I remember as a Teeny tiny tot sitting watching this. When it came out on DVD I got it for my lad who was well into it. He'd already experienced the entire series' of The Clangers and Bagpuss as a nipper.
He appreciates the finer aspects of gentler times!

That was such a weird program for its time, I loved it for the Bonzos though.

Most of my memories of tv programs have already been mentioned but I loved Watch with Mother as a littl'un and then Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds when I got older.

They don't write theme songs like that any more...
It's "feared by the bad, loved by the good" isn't it?

Animal Kwackers, the blue lion thing was scary.

And the Flashing Blade .. I saw it in the 1960s although I think it was repeated in the 1970s as it was made in colour. I recall seeing it in black and white ...

I used to go to school with a lad who was obsessed by Blue Peter. He had every Blue Peter annual ever published, signed photos of the presenters and regularly wrote in, did the fund raising campaigns, etc. Yes, he had a Blue Peter badge although I forget what for. His older sister had died (some kind of cancer I think) and he was a rather odd, over protected mummy's boy (I'm assuming as a result of what happened to his sister)so he didn't seem the best advert for the show.
Not that I watched Blue Peter much but surely worse was Grange Hill. The concept of coming back from school to watch a programme set in a school just seemed truly awful to me. It may have been brilliant but I took agin it on principle and I've never seen an episode.

I know what you  mean I never really liked Blue Peter, but Grange Hill used to be good and quite funny. Surely the worst was Play School, absolutely dire program, but great comedy value for taking the mick out of the presenters. Watch the first minute or so of this, absolutely ridiculous:

I refuse to even watch that clip on the grounds that you dare to use the word "dire" in association with something featuring the mighty, legendary Derek Griffiths. Even a 10 hour TV marathon of paint drying would be essential viewing if Derek Griffiths was providing the songs to accompany it.
