Search results order backwards ?

@digitalscream Is there anyway to make the search function provide results with the newest hits first ?  At the mo, it's oldest first, which is a pain.

Enter your search term.

On the results screen, select "adv search"

Then click the "order by most recent" option.

Not the most intuitive, nor the best UI, but it works.

When I get some free time, I'm planning to reorganise that page to make it a bit more user-friendly. Same options, but in a more accessible place and with a bit more explanation as to what's going on. Fair warning, though...it's not at the top of the list of things to do.

Well, I went as far as 14,272 AD and the Morlocks were bitching about the search page, so I'm guessing it is waaay down on the list of priorities.

I find the google site specific search really good:

In the google search box:

site:thefretboard.co.uk [your search terms]

Then use the google search tools to refine - you could set to posts in the last week/month/year etc. and order it by date.
