Right, let's see who gets this :) what have these got in common?

    Green Day
    Johnny Cash
    Five Finger Death Punch
    The Gaslight Anthem
Have they all made albums with American in the title.  If that's not the one it is another link.

  • Had appointments on their guitars from guitars that were for the other hand.  SRV wasn't a lefty - but the bridge on Number 1 was.

Something to do with left-handedness. As I recall though SRV was right-handed but his guitar had a left-handed tremolo. My guess is they're all left-handed and SRV is the odd one out.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Afraid it's not to do with their sinister nature (or wronghandedness so to speak).

As a clue, Hendrix and Macca would be classed as metal.

Is this something to do with a periodic table?

  • No.  As a clue to speed it along and for some clarification there is uncertainty above the year of Kim Jong Il's birth.  It is presumed to be either 1941 or 1942.  This connection relies of that year being 1942.

Bands where the later line-ups are far more successful than the first?

  • Hmm, they've all had a least two guitar era so to speak.  I reckon it's got to be based around the guitar because the Stones have remained relatively in tact besides Jones - Taylor - Wood.  So is it something like none have the original guitarists?
