"Oblique Strategies"
You have been asked to contribute a musical piece to a West bank
music festival 'curated' by Brian Eno. There are no limitations to what
you produce - song, instrumental, soundscape, installation, phone
app, ballet ... all Brian asks is that you write something new.
Oh, and one other thing - Brian gets to choose the title of your piece.
More accurately, Brian will randomly draw from his jolly clever Oblique
Strategies cards to generate a title for the piece - whatever the card
says, that's the title for your musical piece. Don't argue, Brian knows
best.
So, to recap...
1) Brian chooses your tune's title - draw an Oblique Strategy from
http://stoney.sb.org/eno/oblique.html
2) Write something new (any genre, any key, do what you want)
based on that title.
(And, if anybody asks, it was all your idea - as well as being very
clever, Brian is also exceptionally shy)
DeadlineMidnight (UK time) 15th August 2016.
Prizes
The
prize for this competition will be a brand new

Soundscape time ...

Mine, duly drawn, is 'Consider Different Fading Systems'.
If you hear nothing from me as usual on this comp, then consider me duly faded.
Mind you, an arty music festival in the West Bank (of the Jordan) has an extra socio/political edge that Southwark just can't quite match.
I feel a middle eastern theme coming on...
Pass me an oud, someone.
Make a sudden, destructive unpredictable action; incorporate
Use filters
Ummm okay.

Sounds quite fitting for me. Definitely going to finish something for this one, definitely favouring West Bank to South Bank though - I much prefer tumultuous volatile middle eastern regions to London
Only joking .. I liked that, especially the gentle picking into totally insane .. have a wow ... the standard is going to be high ..
