  • Had this on as background, so probably missed the finer points. I like him as an interviewee though, comes across as very honest and relatable.

    - at least he doesn't dye it

    - he'd look stupid with a crew cut

  • I know what he means with the Bohemian Rhapsody run. I always try to visualise the shapes before i get into it. It's one of those things you can do over and over at home, but the extra pressure of doing it live makes you tighten up.

  • What a beautifully honest interview. Total legend.

Got to admit, he does come across well. Again, I'm not a Queen fan but it's a very enjoyable interview.

He does come across as a lovely, honest fella. I'd imagine that it feels quite emotional at times playing along to Freddie's piano and voice.

What amazed me from the interview is that neither he nor Roger Taylor use in-ears; it's all off monitors. Their hearing must be absolutely fucked.

Roger Taylor has stated he does have some hearing damage/loss. Oddly Brian is one a small few guitar legends that's been around doing it as long as he has with 3 cranked to the max AC30s and reports no significant damage to his hearing! They all practically have tinnitus that have been doing it for many years...yet Brian says not for him!

As for the video in the OP Jamie Humphries posted it himself a few months ago when he'd only recently done the interview. Not sure if G.I have removed the video and re uploaded it cos I watched it a few months ago! Brian always comes across as very likeable, intelligent and thoughtful in his interviews - why so many folks love the guy!

  • I can't imagine the volume that 3 cranked AC30s would put out. He's been doing it for 45+ years so he must have extraordinarily robust ears if his hearing hasn't been affected!

Two AC30s on half volume run in stereo is pretty monstrous... that was my old stage rig.

    Tinnitus. Much.

I thought that despite the wall he only ever had one amp plugged in.

He had one dry and the other two left/right stereo wet IIRC
