  • What is it do you think that pulls you to the 335?

  • got a Collings i35 (formerly humbuckers now TV Jones Powertrons) that I love but don't pick up anywhere near as much as my DCS (P90) - can't figure out why but have a couple of new amp acquisitions and am dying to try the i35 with the HBs again!!!!   AAAARggh!!!

The clean sound is fantastic, burstbucker 1 and 2 have so much clarity and the tone controls really do a great job for smoother sounds.

The les paul is pretty good and is a darling to look at but the 335 really seems like the one...

  • I love my 335 - the Gibson which works best for a died-in-the-wool Fender player, for me.

LPs are too thick, too small, have too much neck-angle and the controls in all the wrong places.

If this were TGP, I'd be adding 'YMMV'....

  • Unless you're a high gain player (in which the LP will be more useful) then they cover fairly similar ground. You'd get more mileage having a 335 and a Fender type with single coils instead of the LP

  • Indeed. A 335 and a tele will cover everything between them

LP and a 330 compliment each other superbly
    The answer was never 42 - it's 1/137 (..ish)

Wis'd. If you have a Les Paul go fully hollow for diversity.

  • Happy with my 336 and 339, best of both worlds for me.  335 versatility without the bulk.  I have a Les Paul for sentimental reasons - a Les Paul was the guitar I aspired to when I started out, so I like owning one.  But it hardly gets played, even though it's a magnificent guitar.

Yep you'd have a hell of a time playing a semi with loads of gain at stage volumes

I didn't realise I needed a 335 until I read this thread. This forum is costing me a fortune and should come with a financial health warning! :3 :)
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)
