Three lovely, diverse reverb sounds, can get you a fair range from realistic spaces to otherworldly (on 80s rack hall mode), and the tremolos are great, especially harmonic mode.
Recommended very highly.
The reverb is great too - it’s not as complicated as some other Strymon reverbs with modulation etc, but it’s three very musical styles and you can go from subtle to extreme. Sometimes I like to turn the mix high and the decay really low/quick for really cool dub/reggae sounds. Otherwise I’m using it for more subtle reverbs, but it’s also does the huge London Grammar/ambient thing very well too.
I use the spring reverb and harmonic trem settings almost all the time into my tweed super.
The other modes give me options for other sounds, but, Ive not fully explored those yet and I've had the pedal a few years now!
That, sir, is a Source Audio Vertigo
It's never left the board since I got it.
I have it on all the time, preferring to dial in more or less trem/verb via the knobs, and what makes it a brilliant pedal is that it's so stage friendly --
I don't like menus and the Flint has a perfect see-at-a-glance that corresponds exactly with what you're hearing.
I would have one again in a heartbeat though (and have owned several)
It does sound a bit digital and I’ve found more organic Reverbs. Best bet is to try one and flip it on here as I doubt you’ll lose money if you don’t buy new.
Handy tip for when you don’t need the tremolo effect = set the intensity knob on the tremolo side all the way off. Now engage the tremolo side for a low frequency cut. Your parts will cut through the band mix more; great for clean funk rhythm as well as making distorted parts less muddy.
Love the Flint. I stupidly sold my first one, and instantly regretted it.
Bought another one recently and it's never been off my board since! I really like all the settings on both sides. I never wanted a complicated reverb or tremolo pedal, so this is perfect for my needs
