Thinking of adding some preamps to use into speaker sims into my in-progress rebuild set up, and have been looking at a few pedals etc to see what could work.
But then thought of the kit building project, and wondered if there was anybody that makes preamp building kits similar to the pedal or amp kits? And whether they would be achievable to build if you're new to building pedals and such.
Would be looking for at least a clean one (Fender style, Jazz Chorus style) and an overdrivey one (Supro, Hiwatt (Led Zep style)), that kind of thing.
I think Pedalparts do overdrive pedals in the style of the overdrive ones, but I have a JHS Twin Twelve (Silvertone 1484 inspired) pedal and that doesn't really work that well as a standalone preamp into speaker sim, with drive nd fuzz going into it.
Or do some amp builders make them as a preamp?
Any suggestions greatly received.
Thanks

It's not quite a kit, but you order the PCB from them, and they provide you with a fairly simple one-click way of ordering most of the parts as a single order from Mouser. IIIRC, I had to buy a couple of pots somewhere else.
