However I can't see myself gigging for months so tempted to let it slip, and take out a new policy as and when I'm back out there.
I've just renewed mine even though I'm not out playing at the moment. Most house insurance policies are just not written for extensive music equipment and often the single article limits are too low for a nice guitar.

Similarly, I'm tempted to let it slip a couple of months until gigging and rehearsing again. However, sod's law something will happen when they're not insured....

I never bothered with insurance before but since I bought a fairly rare Rickenbacker I think I may want to get cover for it.
It's their "harmonic" policy I have, which covers accidental damage.
