I have a 2 weeks leave from work coming up and we're not going on hols so I have decided to spend the time getting more familiar with Logic Pro X, my barely used HX Stomp and record some music, just some basic guitar. bass. drums tracks. I will use my elec guitars through HX Stomp or via the cab clone on my Mesa Boogie, use the Drummer function in Logic but need a bass to record through the HX Stomp to complete the tracks.
I love Fender Precision bases but not looking to spend much at all just for a bass that will be used barely at all and sit in my wardrobe for 95% of the time.
What can I get for £100-150 that will give a decent P-Bass type tone for some recording?
I've seen the Squier mini P-Bass is £139 and there Ibanez GR180 is not much more at £159. That's about the limit, not really looking to spend much more than that.
What would you recommend?

Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after youIt's actually quite hard to make a truly bad P-Bass .

The Ibanez Soundgear GSR or its Cort Action equivalent would do.
Used Vintage basses - as a brand they lose a lot of money but the basses compare really well to the better Squiers so there are bargains to be had.
