Which Charlatans? The first band to have that name were one of the first American psychedelic bands.
As my attempt to claim AC/DC as British was shot down (in flames) - effectively because they're an Australian-based band - then I think there could be an argument that Thin Lizzy were a British-based band (although not in their early days).
