Any experience with Bulldog pickups?

What's Hot
I've been browsing the site a few times and the offering looks good to me - good range, nice specs and reasonable prices.

But I don't see these discussed as often as oil city, Monty's, ox4, etc.

Any experiences, good or bad, with these?

Thanks!

    Yes, I bought a pair of humbuckers off eBay years ago - a PAF+ bridge and PAF standard neck.

    I've got a lot of quality humbucker pick-ups in my guitars (MoJo, Seymour Duncan, Di Marzio, Gibson, etc) and those Bulldogs sound the best to my ears.

  • Morning @SteveRobinson ;hope you’re well.

    Yep still lurking in the shadows....

    I tend to keep my head down & mind my own business but still here making pickups, amps & playing guitar! Been doing it a while and most of the forum discussions on my pickups disappeared along with the Music Radar forum!

    My old Crinson Tele had a set of Bulldogs in it and it was the best sounding Tele I’ve ever heard by far ... definitely shouldn’t have sold it!

    Bought a pair of humbuckers recently. right up there with the very best of them & reasonably priced to boot. he`ll tailor your pickups to suit your taste.  wouldn`t bother going anywhere else now.  and no,  i`m not his mum  Lol ...

  • I have a set of Hot PAF's and they are lovely! Got them in a cheap superstrat at the moment but hoping to get a nice les paul to put them in eventually.

    @PonchoGreg ;  I went for the `Fat Pafs` option.

    I've had quite a few sets of Hayden's pickups and they're easily the equal of companies who are charging a lot more for a similar product, I currently have Bulldog's fitted to four of my guitars.

    One particular little nugget I can regale about his pickups - I have a set of 60's Strat pickups (I think they may have been a prototype for what became Sweet 62 set) and ended up comparing to a friends prized 60's Strat. We could not hear a difference, those pickups totally capture the character and sound.

    I had some in a US Strat and they were an improvement to the Tex Mex that came in the guitar.

  • I've had a set of Bulldog Texas Floods in my Strat for the last decade and can confirm they are perfect in every way
    Thanks Hayden

  • Many thanks folks! If anybody needs anything pickup/Matamp related drop me a message.

    @March ; Glad you like the ‘62, Gwyn Ashton says similar things so I must be doing something right....

    @stan thanks very much - was that the set that I sent Horncastle way??

      @impmann yep - I’ve got that set in my PRS. They work really well.

    @hassleham was that the set you got years back??

    @cm01 still got my Crinson. That’s not going anywhere!

    @dave_vader thanks!

    @ponchoGreg fire me a question anytime.

    I bought a set of relatively high output humbuckers I custom ordered with some non-standard gauge wire 11 years ago and they are still my favourite pickups.
    Lots of pickups have come and gone since then but these are great in my LP
