But if someone is a Slash fan and they want one who are we to judge?
I think the JJN Gold Glory looks a lot more fun.
Sometimes signature guitars add interesting features and specs that are worth looking at.
I don’t like signature gear as a starting position, the signatures on it put me off etc. Where I have gone for something artist endorsed it’s because it offers something particular I.e. I have a Bonamassa wah because it offered vintagey voice and particularly loves humbuckers.
So what would make me go for a Slash Les Paul I guess is if I wanted the neck carve or the pickups.
I've actually got two LPs, one with the original APH-2s and one with the Slash pickups and they are different, but I doubt Slash suddenly decided that the Epiphone should have pickups wound like the original SDs for me personally the ‘59 LP is the better buy for the money. Same construction, pretty much the same neck profile but Gibson pickups for £50 less. Winner. (Although I don’t like the satin finish)
Doh!
Gotta say the 1959 Epi Les Paul looks to be the better buy for the Gibson p'ups alone.
seems a lot more bang for your buck.

The AFD100 is incredible on the AFD mode, such a great sounding amp. I don't do much signature stuff but again I'd make an exception for that.
