A bit of water, a hot iron, a bit of touch up before the final clear coats... it might just work...or I might make it worse!?
Just check things like fretboard edges as sometimes the shock of the impact can travel along the grain far too well

Now need to find someone with a double deep freeze to get some checking going!
I've just checked along the fretboard and it seems to be OK. Nearly had an authentic headstock break...although it has a nice chunky volute to minimise the risk.
Very happy with how it came out, looking forward to finding out what the pickup/scale length/mahogany combo sounds like!

Finished the fret job and wired it up this morning.
Pickups are all overwound Iron Gears for this one (wanted to keep the budget down), going into a 6-position freeway switch.
Top 3 settings are basically strat in between sounds and middle alone, bottom 3 are tele settings so I get neck and bridge together in the middle.
All settings sound really nice and full, warm strat/tele type sounds.
I'll attempt to record some sounds and post them up.
Amp is a Marshall SV20 on 5W with a Jettenuator set low through a 1960AX cab, really quiet.
