As the neck was orangey and boringly plain I stained & sanded a bit of something into it, using a stain colour that'd help it blend with the body better. In less strong light they sit together pretty well.
This is before lacquering got started.
The angle shows the flame at about it's flamiest, obviously changes a lot with angle. No 'popping' the flame with stain or anything, that's a layer of shellac and then the colour sprayed

Reflection off the back. It's quite flat at the mo but over time it will settle down & sink and show some texture.

The colours change with light and the flame changes, sometimes almost disappears, but something like that ^
