“All that being said it’s priced at £6500 which is just over half of what you can expect to pay for a new custom ordered L-5 today.“

Another stunner, Fred. But can you even order one these days? Last I heard they’d suspended archtop production? I shudder to think of the prices when they return.

I’ve read confirmation from a couple of dealers that indeed, it is no longer possible to order an L-5. The last you could was at £12.5k if I recall correctly.

Thank Dave. The tone pot made more of a difference than I had imagined, and in a very positive way.

It's had a lot of interest since posted on jazz groups but mostly international so a deal hasn't materialised just yet. Still available for now.

Fred - this is indecent and far too tempting. It’s a birth year guitar for me to boot.  I should report you

I’m having to cling hard to my view that an L5 is just that little too big for me

I sold a 175 to a guy (non-forumite) who has his eye on this, by the way, and who who may very well be in touch once he has the cash at his disposal

I had that view too after a while with my first L-5 but now I have an 18"er and a couple 17"ers and really like the kind of tone that the bigger bodies can put out, acoustically or otherwise. Thanks for the heads up on the non-forumner.
