Saturn is really good but I've been using Izotope Trash 2 for many years with good results. It can often be found on offer.

I got the crossgrade after I bought a Quad Satellite in a deal from Andertons. Was a bit unsure it would work because I’m still running Mojave and the freebie needs Catalina. I was still able to authorise the freebie and essentials pack even though I couldn’t run the freebie. So I got the £50 essentials running on my quad if that makes sense. It’s a great deal.

I think the £50 bundle is a great deal, but though the £199 is also pretty good value I'd keep in mind that you can get Arturia FX4 for £50 more which has loads of really great stuff and if you wait a month for black Friday will probably be available for even less.

Arturia FX 4 for how much ?....looks like £400+ everywhere to me.

Is there any reason NOT to buy BFD3 for the current £49?

OK, 55GB of storage requirement is a bit of a downside, but I'll put it on a 2GB USB SSD for whenever I want to use it (which won't be all the time).

It's an extremely good deal based on how much it used to cost and it is a full on pro level drum plugin.

When it was on a similar sale last time I thought hard, but didn't go for it and the reasons were:
* It's a massive download
* It's very complex and overkill for me and EZDrummer 3 probably makes more sense and will be easier to learn
* I think it's being sold cheap because it's basically abandonware and I don't want to learn something quite complex that may not have a future.

As a result I decided I'd rather pay £150 and get EZDrummer 3. At the moment I'm hanging on for black Friday to see if it gets discounted, but I may just buy it anyway at some point.

Ahhh - I wasn't aware of the abandonware status. Think I might just wait to see if there are deals next month too.

I can't praise EZD3 enough. It's an incredible piece of software, not just for the sounds, but also for the songwriting tools. It's well worth anybody's cash IMO.

@monquixote ;; @TTony ;; As I understand it BFD 4 is due "soon-ish" for realsies rather than in a vapourware sense. Although in software release cycles, that could well be 2024 rather than pre-Christmas and so on.

BFD Player is, I think, a precursor to a proper revamped full-fat BFD, and a demonstration that BFD isn't dead in the water, even if its been looking for a log to cling on to for a little while. So if nothing else getting a cheapo BFD3 might entitle you to upgrade pricing for BFD4. When it comes.

If you have any of their software you can generally get other software by them for cheaper.

I already owned Pigments and V Collection so I think I paid about £99 for FX 3 in the sale.

I'd still take Soundtoys or Fabfilter over these plugins, but I own collection 3 and it's very good.

That being said you can get a massive UAD bundle on plugin boutique at the moment and they are quite similar in approach.

I've just upgraded from 3 -> 4

You get MS-20 filter, Rotary Speaker, Coldfire Distortion and a Lexicon 224 emulation which seems reasonable for $69

One for the creatives. Not really a deal, but I think there is a tenner off at Plugin Boutique. I might give it a go as I like unusual plugins.
