How do you feel about this? Anyone tried it yet?
Having stumbled across a YouTube video, as an experiment, I thought I'd give the limited free trail of something called
Audimee a go. I think there are a few similar AI voice websites out there.
It doesn't actually generate the whole vocal itself from scratch as it were. You have to upload a reasonably okay vocal track (preferably without FX) but then it's converted into the "AI Artist's" voice. There are a number to choose from - male, female and various styles.
I would have previously been quite sceptical about this but I was surprised with the results.
Here are some short 30 sec clips of the same song - my original vocal first, then two of the free "artist" options available in the trial.

For someone like me who can sing a bit but isn't really a proper vocalist, I think this could be great. I think I'd still prefer to use my own voice generally but it's a very useful tool for songs where my vocal doesn't cut it.

Here's the Sound on Sound review https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/dreamtonics-synthesizer-v
and my humble efforts on Kompoz , both with zero, no tweaking to synth v's first attempt.

While I don't think I'd every use them as a lead voice, even without the copyright issues, I think they are VERY useful in a mix of backing vocals for us one-person-bands. Always think backing sound better with a range of tonalities in there. Also been quite useful for demoing tracks to female singers rather than presenting my falsetto vocals.
Like all these tools, great tools but sadly open to abuse commercially.
