Aw damn. A great drummer for one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
    This one goes to eleven

“After I got heavy metal out of my system, it was on to straight up rock and roll, Americana, Southern rock, and traditional country,” Turner said.

That quote from the Rolling Stone article probably explains why I'm not a fan, but I know they were a good live band and certainly have many admirers on here.

Glioblastoma's the same condition which killed Neil Peart, a decade older but still relatively young.  Cancer really is a shitty thing.

    RIP

Saw them live a few times and he always seemed to be having a great time. RIP Brit.

Well, I shall be seeing them live for the first time later this year, and I was hoping to see him with them. Awful news. 57 is practically a teenager these days.
    RIP Brit

I’ve become a big fan of the band in recent years after first seeing them on Sky Arts coverage of a Download one year. I now have all the albums, and even bought a couple of t-shirts all the way from Atlanta.

    RIP Brit

Agreed. Saw them a few times in small venues here in the UK. Before they ‘hit it big’ and now play the O2 (which I will give a miss!)
Very sad. Hell of a drummer!

    RIP
Gord Downie at just 53 as well, who was the lead singer for arguably the most Canadian band of all time, The Tragically Hip. Amazing that it seems to take down so many great musicians. Super sad.
