    April summary: 165km / 14 runs / longest 24km

No races or PBs, just enjoying getting out in these longer days. Now I just want a bit more sunshine and less rain!

I hope everyone else is enjoying their running.

    April,  184km, 11 runs,  longest 27.4km

Currently nursing some kind of injury so off to the Sports Masseuse and Physio tomorrow...

Am hoping it is just some sticky fascia adhesion type issue she can free up as at thick end of marathon training now with weekly distances around the 70/80km level for next 3 weeks before a 3wk taper...

    April: 187km, 13 runs, longest 42.5km.

More rest and recovery last month due to Brighton marathon. I feel fully recovered now and looking for more races

Hope you get on alright at the Physio @Benm39 , do you think there's an element of maranoia going on there?

    Good running everyone.

    April: 153km, 6 runs, longest 23km

Injured my ankle at the beginning of the month so have been doing less runs but have managed to increase the distances ready for my first 50km run in June.

Also managed to help pace my wife to her first sub 2hr half marathon which has been a goal of hers for years, so that felt amazing to be part of her achievement.

I completed my first ultramarathon on Saturday (mention a couple of pages back). Ended up as 32miles and 1100m of elevation.
It was tough but a really enjoyable day!

It was 10 x 5km laps with the last one being the only one that’s a race, and I finished 32nd out of 200 which I’m really pleased about as I don’t normally run long distances, off road, or near hills!

May was a struggle. I got the flu at the end of April and was absolutely dead for a week. Recovery has taken a long time and so I went down to 140km for May. I started in June and then felt rubbish after 50km in the first seven days... so I am resetting everything from now until the end of August. I am going super slow, keep the heart rate around 145bpm, and pick up the distance. Half marathon goal in September might be too soon as I am wary of sticking too much on the knees too soon but we will see.
