Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
I still buy every issue but the days when I read it from cover to cover are long gone.
The main cover features just seem to come round in cycles - a Les Paul issue, a Strat issue, a Joe Bonamassa issue, a Tele issue, an Amps issue.... of course it's inevitable to some extent after 30 years but there is a distinct lack of imagination.
Guitar & Bass isn't much different really, but it does have one feature I really enjoy reading, "Private Collection" - which is missing from the current issue, I hope they haven't run out of people to interview.
I think they're trying to innovate with the Standards, hence those things. If people don't like them, then they should look at getting a Historic for a real Les Paul.
Gibson's recent pricing has been pretty mental though. They deserve all the slagging off where possible there.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

It's a commercial enterprise, so there are limits to how much they can slag stuff off, and they will tend to big-up UK-made stuff, but is that a big deal? I don't get wound up at all reading it, although they do sit on the fence somtimes
Seriously, why all the hate? Can anyone give me a list of better magazines?
What's the problem with Gibson reviews anyway? Should the mag not review new models, when one of the big two has apparently based 2015 models around the premise of innovation rather than just cranking out the vintage features from before any of us was born?
Very brave of them to stick the robot tuners on them, I suspect that's a marketing error, but the mag needs to cover it.
