I am mortified to admit that Alistair is an addict.

To what, you ask?
RuPaul's fucking Drag Race.
Now, as a person that has, in the past, perhaps taken a stroll up Bourneville Boulevard from time to time, I simply simply don't get this and I often say RuPaul has set back gay rights 30 years.
Do any of you actually watch this utter tripe?
It's car crash stuff.

I absolutely love it. It's genius because like they are gay men right, but the thing is they are dressed as women so it makes it easier for my nan to understand.
Seriously I just don't get it. I understand the gay scene and I understand the drag scene but the constant promotion of uber-camp gay men dressing as women, or in fact TVs love of uber-camp gay men full stop just feeds the small mindedness of the closet homophobes out there. The media seems to want to present people in neat little faux mainstream boxes all the time and I don't feel it does society any favours. It's like the old clichés of black men always playing bad guys in American films - is it useful? No.
