@vasselmeyer - So not only me then!!
It's weird, I've been playing them for a while now and only just noticed. For me it's not too bad sitting down, it's standing up it gets a tads worse. I think a rounded edge at that part of the guitar might "look" weird and spoil the look but it might be cool to see a Cu24 with this feature....

The only ergonomically guitar is the strat. Everything else is a sneeze away from a rib fracture

IMHO a Fender Strat or the Anderson equivalent is the supreme example of a well thought out 'shape' for a guitar body.  Some things are 'right' and cannot be improved on.

Found the guitar for you @thomasross20

I know how you like PRS build quality - Check

I know how you like your maple necks - Check

I know how you like your Suhr's single coils, how about some narrowfields?

How about PRS build quality with Fender Strap comfort with no sharp edges?

I always love the idea of prs private stock but they end up being some of the ugliest guitars I've ever seen.

Try a bound bodied Tele - that is a sharp edge.

    @RaymondLin, that looks awesome!
Do they do it with an ebony fretboard? ;)

I must admit the sharp edge annoyed me on all mine too. I had a battered ce22 that I rounded off and I kept it the longest because of it.
Nowadays I stick with strats but if I get some money on the future id like to try an S2 standard 22.

I totally get this. It stops me from playing anything with a carved top. Can't handle Les Pauls at all. It also stopped me buying an ESP M3, which was my favourite guitar on a birthday-guitar shopping spree a few years ago:

    Like that, but in black.

It also stopped me buying the best-sounding Suhr Modern I've played to date:

And there was an amazing looking Modern with an incredible green drip finish advertised by a chap on MR that I really wanted too. :-(

I can live with it but I do notice dents in my forearm after a 3 hour gig lol...
Given PRS is adamant about making the best guitars, you'd have thought he'd have cured this ailment in the designs :)

You are right about the raised outer edge being the opposite of a forearm contour, the raised outer edge is like having a speed bump when you move to get different tonal variations. I liked this particular instrument (carved figured maple top-mahogany back - 22 fret has wider pickup spacing than 24 fret) and wanted to keep it, but I also wanted to explore why so many people don't like the feel of these guitars. I wasn't particularly concerned about the look, I wanted it to feel as good as other guitars since so many guitar makers have a forearm contour. I sanded down the raised outer edge in the forearm area. Cosmetically it just exposes more of what looks like binding but is actually part of the top that isn't stained. The end result is a vast improvement as far as the feel of the instrument, which is why so many guitar makers have a forearm contour, and this is a solution if you want to keep a carved maple top-mahogany back PRS . I included a picture of the end result.

If it's chafing then a dab of Germolene should sort that out.
Nah, you need Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, with a free Proustian frisson...
