Does that actually say "Girl Guitar"?
Anyone want to spark a twitter storm?  o
    It says "Girl Guitars"

Presumably it is Daisy Rock's tag line.

It's funny, 10 years ago it was seen as a bold and positive move to make guitars aimed at women (remember those Gibson Goddess models, too).

Now it would probably be regarded as offensive pandering to outmoded gender stereotypes.

Hmm, not sure even 10 years ago such a pink and sparkly website would have been welcomed by most forward-thinking women.  Certainly it's outmoded now, as you said, their home page made me wince!

Thing is, Daisyrock was founded by a woman with the aim of getting young girls into playing guitar. So the sparkly colours and twee shapes are very deliberately targeting the My Little Pony aesthetic, but they're also perfectly decent instruments (some balance/playing sitting down issues aside).

Still, it's ironic that there are plenty of men willing to mansplain to the woman founder that she's wrong and sexist. ;)

  • Where have all these Gibson Les Paul Studio 2016's that everyone is flogging off appeared from? £799 is pretty tempting.

From what I hear, My Little Pony is very sound.  Not something I've watched though.

I must admit, I'm tempted by the Rivolata in blue, but I'm gonna struggle to get to Coda in the next few weeks. Has anybody played one?

people are sadly so focused on not hitting the stereotypes they forget that some people like those things and there is nothing wrong with that so long as you don't force that direction.

No one ever complains if boys like football, trains and guns... yet that's equally stereotypical.

This is a lesson my wife and I had to learn with our girly 5 year old.  We made a real effort to be gender neutral but she wasn’t having it.

the younger one is totally different

seems like our influence counts for the sum of bugger all

Still, you know what they say about buying a cheap violin that seems to be a bargain? Watch out! It's probably some sort of fiddle.

    Quality service from Coda.

I called them earlier to ask if there was any chance I could change my order that I placed yesterday from the Sigma DMR4 to the 000MR4 and the answer was yes, of course.

Email just received saying it will be delivered tomorrow.

You clearly don't read The Guardian, over there the thought-police approved, 'doubleplussgood' term for allowing such behaviour is 'pandering to toxic masculinity'. ;)
