Ok.

So, I'm still a complete 'haven't really got a clue' newbie into all this...

I'm trialing a couple of devices into Ableton/Logic/Garageband;

1.) Push 2

2.) Elektron Digitakt

3.) Teenage Engineering OP-1

Now, the first two recommend that you don't use a USB hub to connect them to the Mac;

...so, without a hub, how do you do it ? Is there a special user interface.

I love the Digitakt and OP-1, but I cant get the Digitakt to interface with the Mac...

I've got a NI Komplete Audio 6 but no idea how to integrate these.

Told you it was a daft question !

    My iMac has three or 4 USB ports on it anyhow? But hubs work fine.

    There can be limitations with hubs. Firstly there's the potential for not having enough power in the bus, which is easily solved with powered  hubs, but there's also the 5-hub limit per chain . The motherboard probably has at least one onboard hub, the devices may contain one too.

    Normally that's ok, but in a weird setup you can exceed five pretty easily.

    I use a 7 port powered hub into my Macbook Pro with no issues with 4 MIDI devices, a USB HDD, Cubase dongle and computer keyboard - my audio interface can't go via a hub though. Check the reviews for each unit, I'm led to believe some of the cheap ones can be a bit crap.

    You could try old fashioned 5 pin MIDI cables (MIDI OUT on soundcard to MIDI IN on Digitakt, MIDI THRU to MIDI IN on OP1)
    I imagine the push needs USB but I don't have one to check.
