More seriously though, I've seen the way old age and what comes with it has affected my parents and their quality of life. Easy to say now while I'm younger but I do think that losing a few months or years at that end of my life would be a price worth paying for having a few beers now. My dad died at 91 after six months of cancer. My mum is 90 now and is currently in a nursing home. TBH I'd rather check out before reaching that stage so any advice to cut out the booze will fall on deaf ears.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

What?   It’s always been sold to me as a healthy option.  I feel I should sue the advertisers for their dishonesty.

And a study next month will say it benefits you in some way.

Red wine in moderate amounts is beneficial. Drinking red wine increases your chance of a heart attack by x%
Milk is good for you. Milk is bad for you.
Bread cures bumache. Bread gives you spots.

These studies just end up being contradicted most of the time.

1st it was smokes, then it was the bacon and now it's the booze, at this rate I'll have nothing left for breakfast.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

Based on their figures I died 5 years ago .. :-)

    The research is flawed ...

    Time off for good behaviour.

Who wants to end up in a council-run gulag with a catheter up your willy dribbling in front of daytime TV?

If having a few more drinks will avoid that then (i) I benefit (ii) society benefits by not having to pay for the council-run gulag
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

Another study from the Journal of the Bleeding Obvious. I do sometimes think a lot of these studies add very little to the knowledge base. I’m sure some people would love to work out the exact amount it’s ok to drink before it’s bad for you - but I can think of a few more pressing medical issues that need clarifying first.

You have to drink enough to pay a large amount of  tax to the government while dying quick enough not to need any treatment

Studies show that constantly "tuning in" for the next media update on what is good and bad for you could reduce you to a dribbling, neurotic, nervous wreck much earlier than if you just fucking ignored it!

Step away from the Television.....away from the Newspaper etc etc blah blah bollocks.
Only a Fool Would Say That.

If smoking’s so bad for you how come it cures salmon?
