    The EVJ can certainly bark and grind when you crank it but it has a tendency to sound pretty dark.  That old LP is probably pretty bright for a humbuckers guitar thanks to low output PU’s.

    It helps that they’re using the cabinet - my best results with the VJ have been when using cabinet sims to PA, then it can sound gigantic.  Still pretty much a one trick pony though.

    Also there’s a lot of room sound in that video which takes away from the one dimensional impression the amp can give.
