Stop using bloody photobucket!.

I love looking at pics of your guitars, I really do. 
However the spam /force closes phone hijacking, fake viruses and general nastiness that come with Photobucket is really not doing your photography Prowess or my anger levels any good.... 

Regardless of how many £50s I win through it!

Imgur is free and brilliant. That is all.

I moved away from Photobucket, and over to Imgur a few months back. 

Zero regrets, plus the app is a fun way to kill 5 mins. 

It it would be good if I could work out how to insert a photo into a post/thread from iPhone app into mobile website....  at the moment, I can only post a link....

Issues with images comes up so often!  I forget, is it a cost issue that we don't have a feature that pretty much every forum in the world has?  I'd be happy to have a small premium 'sub' fee as it annoys the bejesus out of me!

Photobucket is one of the worst photo hosts around.  When I'm using the forum on mobile I can only see Photobucket links, but will never click on them for the reasons outlined above.

Thing is, I have seven years worth of pics on Photobucket and no time to migrate them elsewhere.
Personally speaking, the other hosts have their issues too - so I'm not doing anything different for a while yet...

Flickr's free account gives you 1TB of space - and you can upload movies too - it's effectively free cloud storage!

My Photobucket album goes back even further. I have thousands (literally) of pictures on there and I don't have the time or the will to move them.
All the photo hosting sites are shit these days. Every one of them has annoying issues, speaking as a viewer with an older computer/OS (as opposed to an uploader), though I hated Flickr when I tried uploading pics on there.

Outcome - photobucket is fine if you use the direct link and the add image option on the post editor. This shows the pic on the main site and mobile.   Photobucket is a pile of crap if you just post the link into the text box.  Whilst this shows the image on the main site, it will only show a link on mobile.

I still use it because I have so much on there and they have just given me a rack of free storage for adding the app to my phone.  the app only works half the time

Same here. I use PB on every other forum I post on (quite a few) with nary a problem.

Re phone problems, how can you appreciate  the lovely stuff posted on here on a tiny little screen anyway?

I feel I have missed out now as I have never had porn posted to my phone from PICTURE PAIL. Mind you I don't do much forum stuff on my phone.

I don't use my phone to browse this forum, use an ad-blocker and use Phtobucket to host the occasional pic - everything works fine.

If it was so disasterous, surely the mods/admins would post a definitive post informing everyone how to do it properly (or allow image hosting, thus eliminating the problem)?

@paul_c2  so because you're not effected it's all good?  it's not a modmin issue, it's something the posters need to be aware of,  the evidence is clear above it effects a lot of us.......

The issue isn't simply Photobucket; its people not posting links to pictures in a consistent way.
