OK I potentially have the option of buying a 58 LP DC Junior. It has been messed with routed out neck break and then a pro repair and re-fin in TV Yellow by about the best finish and ageing guy in the UK. Basically a 58 that I won't have to worry about gigging as it has already sustained as many injuries as it possibly can, not looking at investment value but:
How much would you pay for a guitar of this origin but with this history?
I am looking to gig this not sell it on or keep under the bed, I just don't want to pay over the odds for it! to my knowledge original case and pickup the rest after market but quality.

That said, if it was a Clive Brown refinish then that would add a bit of cred/value but not much.
Any pics?

The changes mean that it is no longer a guitar that is of any interest to collectors. The Collectable chunk of the guitar's value is now Zero.
It's value is now determined by how it is perceived as player (unless of course you are insane). So it will only be worth £2k if it feels like £2k in your hands.
The good news is - there is a very good chance that it will.
