I've been playing years but I'm trying to fill the gaps in my theory knowledge. His site is great.
For the notes there are some nice mobile apps that make a game of identifying them.
Chords and Scales for Guitarists is an excellent book by David Mead that will provide all the information needed in a very clearly written style. There is a CD with it.

I'm not sure if it is still in print but it is definitely worth tracking down a copy.
