I already posted an update in my "want to buy" thread in the classifieds, but I thought this little amp might deserve it's own thread that I can update as and when etc.
Anyway, I was on a search for a vintage tweed champ and put the word out on the classified section of this forum. Pretty soon
@knuckleberryfinn got in touch about a 57' champ he had in his workshop and was looking to sell on behalf of a friend. The amp needs a little work doing, (new transformer and a coupling cap changed), so I got it for a rather low price!... ain't this forum grand sometimes?!
The amp arrived this morning and it certainly looks the part! Absolutely beautiful little thing, and a lovely light weight amp too for taking to some of the rootsy trio gigs I'm doing on the side, (prewar jazz and bop, western swing, hard blues, country etc)
So, I'll be updating this thread as I get the amp sorted and ready for use! Will aim to upload some soundclips/videos etc.
For now, here are a few videos showing just what these gorgeous little amps are capable of...
And a few pics too...
Cheers,
Alex
