THere are some brands that dominate despite being eternally average...

In music, Marshall spring to mind- never found one offering in recent years that's even usable, let alobe good.

But others:

Richmond sausages- can't believe people buy them- made of corn IMO.
Hellman's mayo- an insult to any decent French mayos- horrible processed slime
Bremont Watches- no heritage whatsoever so they use tenuous historical 'memorial' pieces.

What others are there?

    KFC still can't figure out how to make chips.  The entire menu is based around frying.  It just makes no sense.

    God yeah, awful sounding things and build quality is poor. I have repaired 2 pairs of them, the wires leading over the headbands fracture because they rub against the adjuster mechanism ...... but that aside .... they are all boomy 70hz bass and no clarity at all.

    The trick used to be to get the chips from the Burger King next door, especially at service stations. Then they standardised the chips between the two chains. :'(
