That kind of thing would be perfect but $50 for an IEC cable is absolutely outrageous!
I think you want the female end of that if you don't want electrocuting!
I have a power supply underneath my board, its one of the older coiks ones with the hard wired cable/plug. I want to make it so I can just plug an IEC into the side of my board so I am thinking to save me messing about, ill chop the 13a plug off, wire a Male IEC to where the plug used to be and somehow strap that to the underside of my board. Not as tidy as I would like but seems to be the only way of doing it.
I see, yes I misunderstood, sorry. That's exactly what I did with my Harley Benton PSU, works a treat. You van also get a chassis mounted one if you have a hole in your board suitable for mounting. Years ago at university someone made an 'extension cable' by putting a 3 pin mains plug on either end of a long piece of flex, I still have nightmares
I work in events and power, seen some pretty dodgy things from some sizable power supplies here ha!
