Hamers have such a low profile in uk/Ireland. I previously owned a 79 and it was a monster guitar.i had my Monaco elite for sale here in Ireland for months with no takers so I put it on the hamer owners page on Facebook. It sold in 2 days to a lad in France for a price I wouldn't have come close to here in Ireland.

I think the neck repair might be putting people off?

I've wanted one of these since they were new but I'd prefer one without the repair, even if it were in worse overall condition.

@woody- my friend has a Monaco ....wow ,great guitar
@ SteveRobinson ...you may be right but I'm surprised at your sentiments as a Luthier .....they all start as bits of wood that get glued together to begin with .......surely it's all about the quality of the repair and even then it's not the end of the world if it isn't a perfect repair -it can always be improved although this one is a perfect repair .

I've only just seen this thread but it caught my eye because my first decent guitar was (still is) a 1980 Hamer Special, same colour with the sustain block bridge and DiMarzios but without the binding and with dot inlays.

Great guitars, shame they're not around any more and it's nice to see such a fine looking example. Good luck with the sale!
