One of my chuffing cats brought a bird in earlier, it escaped in my guitar room and then shat itself all over one of my axes. So I have bird shit dribbled into the top of a humbucker. I've used warm water with a little soap and then just warm water and a towel, but I'm not sure how much if any could have got inside the pup hole or behind it. I've never taken one of these apart before. Do I need to? It seems to work ok.
Also, I'm fully aware that this will lead to first class punnage, so I'll start you off with ... at least it didn't get in the tweeter

If the coil has been wax potted, it won't do any harm.
If it hasn't been potted, then it kind of has been potted now...
I doubt the poop will have any effect on enamel coating on the pickup wires, so I would leave it personally.
