Washburn Rs10v re-refinish

SargeSarge Frets: 2403
edited July 2017 in Making & Modding
I bought this from @JohnnyPlectrum last year or the year before, and it had had a terrible refinish, and the frets were worn and uneven, it has been sitting in the bedroom unplayed since purchase.

So finally I got the other projects done which gave me time to do this

Finished with Rustins Plastic Coating, frets levelled and crowned etc, much much nicer in looks, feel and playability.

    Oh and the colours are courtesy of Keda Dyes, really the most vibrant colours I've come across so far.

    Impressive finish. How did you apply the rustins?

    Thanks, it was applied with a standard varnish brush, one coat every 3 hours with a light flatting after every two or so.

    That's the way I used to do it before I stayed doing more spraying.

    Looks good!

    Thanks @WezV ;
    This is the 2nd time I've used it now, really happy with both results.

    I cheated with the electrics a bit, it's got a prs 5 way selector and it's set up to be a Custom 24, the switch looks like spaghetti junction and I wasn't confident of resoldering it correctly/ neatly.... So in the cavity I cut the pickup leads and just resoldered those with heat shrink tubing inside and out ;)

    Positions are
    Position 1: Bridge humbuckerPosition 2: Bridge humbucker with neck singlecoilPosition 3: Bridge and neck humbuckersPosition 4: Neck singlecoil with bridge singlecoilPosition 5: Neck humbucker
