Power Supply for boss pedals/micro cube amp ???

I need a new one....mostly for powering my micro cube amp...but I believe there are 2 kinds of 9v 500ma PSU's right? Center positive and err the other lol. Well what is it I want ? I have a spare one and that creates a hum that's irritating so I want to buy one that is silent like the one I broke. (earth pin on plug snapped off..doh). I was using the PSU from my Line 6 Wireless effort as I've been powering that from my pedal boards power..so it was going spare till I dropped it n snapped the plasic earth pin.

Now as said its mostly for my micro cube as I'm using this on my mobile teaching I'm constantly wrapping it away and onto the next lesson...so the bit where the wire comes out of the PSU is always where they break -( the soft plastic bit that covers the wire as it comes out of the PUS) quickly breaks and then the wires inside soon after...so I've gone through loads of these I'm hoping to find the correct polarity of course but also if anyone know of any ones that might last - some of them seem to be a lot stronger and less soft/flexy on that plastic bit that comes out of the PSU if that makes any sense?

If it's center negative your after and your total draw will be no more than 1000mA at 9V then you could look into one of these:

They do a few others for isolation and 18V aswell as one that clips directly in place of a 9V battery which is very useful when running very very old gear.

You say no more than 1000ma ? Is that definite? I mean I've got a 1700ma 9v PSU in my Behringer PB100 pedal board....and the bit that usually breaks isn't soft n flext like on many of those I've gone through..its a lot stiffer..rigid in fact looks like if this is ok it'd do the trick ? I'm guessing if it powers a pedal board full of 9v pedals and its not frying any of those then the 1700ma won't be detrimental to a microcube amp either?

The micropower9 gives 1000mA @ 9V DC (which equals 9W)

It's a bit bigger but outputs 3000mA @ 9V DC (equates to 27W)

As far as mA go a pedal will only take what it needs. eg a pedal with a 100mA draw at 9V DC will run fine on a 1000mA supply it will just run the PSU at 10% of its capacity.

Voltage and polarity of connector(centre positive etc.) are a different story.

These must match what the pedal states otherwise your risk causing some serious damage.
