I bought it when it first came out, but haven't played it for yonks.

I think I'd better give it another listen...

Anything with JJ on it is going to be a cool album.

Great guitarist, of the understated variety!

If you like JJ Cale @aord43, give "Shades" a listen.

and I will too. I really like the opening track, to Rd To Escondido, v mellow vibe to it.

Clapton gets unfair stick by some people IMO. I think he is a brilliant player, and a very under rated singer. I just like his playing style, fluid and easy going, but peppered with surprising flourishes of technical brilliance. Saw him live a few years ago, and he just nailed the whole thing with massive ease.

I'm a big JJ fan - laid back cool and effective - Not sure this is one of bis best albums - maybe to tender or polished but certainly not poor - I find JJ tracks/albums are great to play along with, as so easy to end up playing to many notes, so great to try and play less and be effective - and far harder than you'd expect

Clapton has really grown on me over the past three/four years, starting with the Derek and the Dominos stuff, but then some of his solo stuff. Haven't heard that though, so thanks, will give it a listen.
