Effects for Me & my Monkey YouTube channel Facebook Fretboard's "resident pedal supremo" - mgaw
I printed out the Mobius User Manual - nowhere, in any of it's thousands of 'explanations' does it start at the beginning. For example, if I want to get the Mobius to give me a Chorus (it has five); I go to the Chorus section at page 8. It tells me that the Chorus section has five fab Choruses to choose from; it tells me that I can alter the Mix of the wet chorus signal, that I can also adjust the brightness of the effected signal.
All very important stuff that I need to know, but surely, before any of that very valuable information has any value to me it should start by telling me to either turn the TYPE knob to select Chorus and then press a foot
switch (there are two, plus a tap tempo to choose from), or press a foot switch and then turn the TYPE knob to select Chorus.
- you get the idea. Start at the beginning Strymon!!!
If you have a USB-midi cable (the Roland UM One is compatible with everything I've tried it with) you can download Strymon's Nixie software and tweak via the PC interface which makes it a little easier getting at the deep parameters than via the front panel. However, it's perfectly possible to get excellent sounds out of it by just twisting the knobs and using your ears.
Agreed. I think it's amazing - years ago I had a Line 6 PoD with lots of modelling stuff, I also had a horrid Fender modelling amp I couldn't get rid of fast enough - and I was worried that the Mobius was going to be a modern version of those with lots and lots of bad to mediocre effects that left you cold. It's certainly not that, it's breath taking.
I wish I'd bought it months back. Even new (I got mine a few months old and saved a chunk) it would have saved me at least £1,000 in pedals. Love it.
- I'm off to the Strymon website to do some downloading!
